thanks for the interest in my characters! i'm really bad at writing these out of character blurbs, so bear with me. i've been writing & roleplaying for a good chunk of my life. my interests include tarot, lolita fashion, visual novels, & infodumping about five nights at freddy's lore for some reason.

ㅤpersonalityㅤㅤoutwardly, they have a very sugary sweet appearance with all the ruffles & lace. while they often try to keep themselves polite, there is an ever-present snark underneath it. there is an easy flirtatious vibe about them. they are easy to carry a conversation with and mostly enthusiastic to do so, especially if you engage them on their favorite topics — or gossip. you might even find yourself the subject of light-hearted teasing.

take heed, however; every rose has its thorns. beneath that pleasant dollish exterior is the capability for cruelty and deception. a scorpion knows how to use its stinger.

ㅤstill dollㅤㅤat first glance, it's easy to tell that there's something not quite right about them. from their dead-eyed stare with eyes that reflect no light to their alarmingly thin aether, there's much to be discovered about this doll of flesh.

ㅤtick, tack, tittonㅤㅤhave a passing interest in clockwork contraptions? enkh happens to specialize in mammetry & little clockwork baubles. it's not uncommon for them to be tailed by a custom mammet or two. if that doesn't suit your fancy, maybe you're in the market for a doll or other toy instead?

ㅤvelvet embracerㅤㅤword on the wind is that there's an elegantly-dressed courtesan with a knack for gossip. while that may seem a bit juvenile, the criminally inclined & those familiar with the world's underbellies might find their information to be useful. after all — a courtesn services all types. what would better suit an informant?

ㅤboth reached for the gunㅤㅤone would assume that someone so dollish would prefer a more elegant weapon like a rapier or something else. no; this poppet prefers to use guns. their aim is quite exceptional, didn't you know?

ㅤpersonalityㅤㅤtrue to expectation, asagao is a spoiled brat. he's loud and demanding, always commanding attention wherever he goes. one of his favorite hobbies include bratting at rowdy men, for some reason. give him attention! he wants it!

having grown up the only child to the illustrious junichirou & chiasa izayoi, he never wanted for anything — except maybe a little bit of freedom. due to his childhood consisting of illness, he's developed a bit of a complex in regards to learned helplessness & perceived inadequacy.

ㅤmessages from the starsㅤㅤas a self-proclaimed diviner & fortune teller, asagao runs his own little traveling fortune-telling business by the name of twisted moon. have you heard of them? maybe you could ask him for a reading sometime.

ㅤlike a dragonㅤㅤit's hard not to have heard of the family name izayoi when out & about in hingashi. so too is it difficult not to recognize those heterochromatic eyes & pearly scales as none other than the yakuza prince of the izayoi. while he often tries to distance himself from those ties, he always finds his way back to it.

ㅤshow-ponyㅤㅤonce upon a time, the yakuza prince was a star upon the stage. while he was only a novice onnagata — a man who plays the roles of women in kabuki theatre — he seemed to have a knack for it. similarly, you may be acquainted with his singing voice.

ㅤpersonalityㅤㅤdavaajav is a little bit of an oddball. he's always been just on the outside of what is normal social etiquette without delving too deeply in what is inappropriate. his eccentricism leaves him a bit spacey and hard to connect with at times. while he struggles to understand people socially, it doesn't stop him from being outgoing and curious. don't be intimidated by his tendency to babble nonsense; if he has something that he's passionate about, he'll certainly let you know about it.

he's not quick to anger nor make upset. in fact, he seems quite keen on taking insults in his own stride.

ㅤhauntedㅤㅤare you haunted by specters of the past? is there a lingering spiritual presence following you about? davaajav specializes in speaking with ghosts both for the sake of others and to help the lost souls move on from this life into the next. are you sensitive to ghost presences yourself? there are quite a few lingering souls here.

ㅤstars withinㅤㅤas of a few years ago, a group of xaela ( and some raen ) arrived in ishgard. they took refuge in an estate just big enough for the lot of them and quickly became the talk of the town. each of them is always seen wearing a mask of some sort, though no two masks seem to be the same. davaajav is no exception, though his is unique even for a khirtelt.

ㅤcaw, caw!ㅤㅤhe seems to be fond of birds — though it seems like corvids in particular easily warm his heart. you might even catch him with a fluffy crow named peanut trailing after him from time to time. if you have any bird companions, though, you should introduce him. he'll be over the moon!

ㅤpersonalityㅤㅤoutwardly, virgil has a friendly and polite initial demeanor. he appears as a dutiful & devout worshipper of menphina, imparting Her teachings of love unto others. virgil is easy to hold a conversation with & just as much will he make you feel like he's invested in whatever you're saying to him.

those that have a keen ear for empty platitudes & backhanded compliments, though, will find that it's an act that holds a little bit of snark just below the surface. while he's unlikely to be outwardly rude to strangers, he's not afraid to mean girl it up a bit.

those that know him a bit deeper might have a different idea of what the maiden is like, however.

ㅤthe high priestessㅤㅤthey call themselves moon's presence. to the locals of the shroud that are familiar with them, they would apprear to be little else than a somewhat eccentric convent of menphina & dalamud worshippers. those that are average members are disallowed from leaving the village on normal occasions. those who are dubbed prophets or hounds are allowed to leave as they see fit — provided they are in the company of each other, of course. virgil is one such prophet.

ㅤthe magicianㅤㅤdo you have a burning question that you'd like to leave in the hands of mother nymeia and this little vessel of Her word? look no further! virgil is well-versed in several different types of divination, from tarot to tea leaf reading.

ㅤlone wolfㅤㅤno prophet seems to wander for too long without a hound. strangely enough, though, the maiden often finds himself alone. asking might receive prickly results, but maybe you could press for more?

ㅤlife could be a dreamㅤㅤword has it that virgil has the unique ability to dreamwalk. this essentially means that he can lucid dream inside of your dream in order to offer divination, insight to your current mental state, or to otherwise poke around in there. this is a service he offers to troubled visitors to the temple of moon's presence. if your sleep is particularly fitful, inquire about his hunger for nightmares.

ㅤpersonalityㅤㅤjuzumaru is polite, first and foremost, as per his noble upbringing. he tends to be a bit blunt at times which can sometimes come off as a bit rude, but he means no harm by it. his neutral & professional demeanor is donned mostly in public spaces to preserve his image.

privately and among friends, though, he is a lot easier to fluster & excite. if he's comfortable with you, he might even be a little bossier & more demanding with you as he figures you won't be too bothered by it. it's never in an obtrusive or rude way; it just means he's comfortable with you.

ㅤas the gods sayㅤㅤperhaps you may have heard tell of a talented swordsmith from a temple tucked away in the mountains of the far east. such a talented smith can glean memories & feelings from a blade through simple touch. with a bit of concentration, blades become flesh & blood, crafted and molded into reflections of their true selves. if you have a sword that yearns to be heard, he would be happy to help.

ㅤwild dance of swordsㅤㅤthough not exclusively the case, the saniwa will often be found with an entourage of swordsmen who are a bit eccentric. could these be the acclaimed swords turned man?

ㅤshrine lordlingㅤㅤfind yourself in need of a blessing or cleansing from a curse? juzumaru continues his work as a shrine maiden for kakushiken temple. he even makes custom omamori on request!

ㅤpersonalityㅤㅤcruel & rotten to his very core is probably the easiest way to describe emile rochefort with his haughty disposition and tendency to make you feel like nothing more than the dirt beneath his heel. he's impatient & rude, always wanting to put himself first before others. he seems to find entertainment in the suffering of others.

past his harsh & cruel demeanor lies a lonely boy who struggles to socialize in a way that matters. he's hot-headed & prone to either lashing out or throwing tantrums when he is baited into it. it's relatively easy to goad him into a meltdown.

ㅤdanse macabreㅤㅤhave you heard the rumors of the house rochefort estate? the initial head of the house, lord foucault rochefort, went missing along with his wife & three sons. no one has heard hide nor tail of them. what's most peculiar is that the lord's bastard child, emile, was left all of his possessions in his will. up until his disappearance, no one even knew that emile existed.

ㅤkiss the go-goatㅤㅤit's no secret that lord foucault rochefort had a library full of extensive void-related readings. it figures, then, that the locked-away lordling filled most of his time researching matters of the void. if you need information in regards to the void or other void-related dealings, he's your man.

ㅤtainted loveㅤㅤemile is not a full-fledged voidsent; he's never been to the void properly nor was he born there. due to his many voidsent contracts, his aether is nearly indistinguishable from a full-fledged voidsent. voidhunters and voidsent alike will both surely find his void-taint interesting in one way or another.

ㅤone hell of a bodyguardㅤㅤit's likely that you've witnessed the void-brat out & about with his tin-man bodyguard, rook. yes, he will make you fight it if you piss him off.

ㅤpersonalityㅤㅤpaix is utterly polite to a fault, often trampling over their own comforts & desires to make sure everyone else in the vicinity is satisfied. on the exact opposite end of the spectrum, their unfamiliarity with social etiquette causes them to read their own meanings into things, or at worst, ignore the unpleasant parts entirely.

they are very meek & unassuming, often slipping self-depreciative thoughts into their words. yet even still, if you manage to befriend them & lift their spirits even a little bit, the fussy, stuttering mess turns into an absolute ball of sunshine.

ㅤa somewhat sickly sortㅤㅤthose who are aether-sensitive or otherwise have aethersight might notice something very peculiar about paix; they barely have any aether. in fact, their aether is so thin that it's likely they shouldn't even be alive at all.

ㅤoccultish odditiesㅤㅤpaix is employed at an oddity shop that sells all sorts of strange bits & baubles. some might be cursed, & others might just come in handy in a pinch.

ㅤmirror, mirrorㅤㅤcw: suicide rumor has it that this nervous little bauble strongly resembles the victim of a somewhat-famous case from a handful of decades ago. tragically, the victim was led to take their own life. whiile the resemblance is certainly uncanny, it's unlikely that anyone would even remember something like that — or that it could possibly be them... right?

ㅤpersonalityㅤㅤruva comes off as exceedingly charming in most social situations, blessed with the gift of being able to use his words very well. where he lacks in empathy for others he makes up for in wit & smarts. he's particularly adept at slipping casual snark into whatever conversation he can. at some point, it's likely you'll get the feeling he's sort of making fun of you.

while he has the capacity to be cruel, he doesn't prefer it. there is a disconnect between him and most of the people he talks to, and therefore he rarely feels bad about hurting the feelings of others.

ㅤbottom's upㅤㅤthe good doctor brews many a mysterious elixir. while he specializes in ones that are medicinal in nature, he does dabble in making absolutely nonsensical & useless potions. you might find yourself testing out a new potion that turns you into a frog.

ㅤseven seasㅤㅤfor a great long time, ruva has been a part of the azari's crew. if you ask him outright, he'll tell you that he's a simple sailor. those who can see past that though might be able to tell that his crew's morals are a bit more questionable than the average sailor's. that's right — the good doctor is a pirate. ASK FIRST

ㅤharmacistㅤㅤa long time ago, ruva was a doctor of considerable repute in thavnair. for whatever reason, he ended up falling from grace and began dabbling in back-alley deals instead. while it's not certain just why his honorable career went up in flames, there are certainly rumors — if, of course, you're old enough to remember. ASK FIRST

ㅤloaded diceㅤㅤruva has a bit of a gambling vice. he's always willing to play any game with you, but you'd better be sure that he'll try everything in his power to make sure he has the upper hand or even to secure the win.

ㅤlots of shiny shitㅤㅤhe's quite well-dressed & decorated in all sorts of fineries. if you're looking to make quick gil by robbing him, you'll find you have another thing coming. that said, he welcomes you to try.

ㅤcenter stageㅤㅤonce upon a time, chiasa was a highly sought-after oiran. having spent most of her time in the very streets of sanjo hanamachi herself, she finds herself wandering there in her free time now. she has a particular soft spot for those who are in the profession — and this even extends to sex workers of all types. should you recognize her from her glamorous oiran days, she would be delighted to hear from you.

ㅤthe sixteenth nightㅤㅤfollowing her departure from work as an oiran, she married into a very different world. while some say she did it for power and others for wealth, the simple known fact is that she is now involved with the underbelly of kugane. the izayoi clan is a yakuza organization that stresses slow & stable business ventures.

ㅤbehind every successful manㅤㅤ... is a willful woman. word on the street is that the leader of the izayoi clan, junichiro izayoi, is merely a puppet that someone else pulls the strings for. the most popular whisper on the wind is that it's chiasa who is actually running the powerful yakuza group. inquiring with her about it might yield interesting results.

ㅤpersonalityㅤㅤthe loudest & proudest bitch you've ever met. nozomi values her individuality & free spirit more than anything else. with a rowdy spirit & a fiery heart to match, she does what she wants whenever she wants it.

ㅤboss-ozokuㅤㅤmaybe you've heard of them, if you're from kugane. A girl gang called the CHERRY BOMBS prowl the streets causing a little bit of chaos, a whole lot of fun. if you're part of a yakuza family, you might recognize her as the boss of the very same gang that gives your debt collectors a run for their money.

ㅤrunaway heartㅤㅤthere are all kinds of rumors that surround just where this one came from, but the running theory is that she's the daughter of someone high up in one of the more prevalent yakuza families herself. her hair is the same hue as the wakagashira of the izayoi family, after all. asking her directly about it might not be the smartest idea, though.

ㅤanarchy in kuganeㅤㅤin addition to her rivalries with yakuza families, nozomi is also famously an anti-authority figure. from vandalism to property damage, most of the destruction & chaos she causes seems to serve some kind of purpose. why, though? it's anyone's guess.

ㅤpersonalityㅤㅤhajime is a natural-born trickster with an unfortunate lack in proper judgment when it comes to how far his pranks might go. what seems utterly hilarious to him might be a bit far to others. still, his inherent charm & outgoing, seemingly friendly personality easily capture his victims within his claws.

those who are close enough to him to be able to see past his many faces might have a different idea of what he's like, though. when it matters, he is fiercely protective of what he loves & reliable when it counts — which, of course, is when he wants to be.

ㅤtrickster's blessingㅤㅤthough he might try to lead you somewhat astray if you guess correctly, hajime is very obviously a kitsune. while many of his kind prefer to stay elusive, he shows himself quite readily to others, hiding in plain sight. his favorite thing to do is play pranks on others, though he also has a duty to help those in need if they are willing to form a deal with him. an offering must be given before he offers his protection or other skills — but be careful with your words, for you might end up with the shorter end of the stick.

ㅤinarizushi loverㅤㅤthey say that a kitsune's favorite thing is tofu, and hajime is no exception. you could convince him to do a great many things for a good snack of tofu.
